Mr Turnbull will become Australia’s 29th prime minister once he is sworn in by the governor-general, most likely on Tuesday.

Earlier today, Mr Turnball announced he was standing down as Communications minister and declared he will be challenging Tony Abbott to become Australia’s Prime Minister, with reports Deputy Prime Minister Julie Bishop also asked Mr Abbott to set aside.
