Jim Carrey has fired back with a powerful statement after being accused of facilitating his ex-girlfriend’s death in a new lawsuit.
The Mask actor – whose former flame Cathriona White tragically died from a drug overdose on Ambien, Propranolol and Percocet in September 2015 – was alleged to have provided the pills that killed her.
The lawsuit filed by her husband Mark Burton claims that all three bottles bore the name Arthur King, which is alleged to be a pseudonym for Carrey.
It accuses the star of giving her the pills three or four days before White died, and that he tried to cover his tracks by texting her.
But the actor’s lawyer, Marty Singer, has claimed Burton’s lawsuit is a “money-grab scheme”.
The lawyer alleged to TMZ that Cathriona “stole” Carrey’s tablets and claimed the actor never gave her a single pill.
