It’s one of the most anticipated movies of the year and the Minions movie is finally here!
It doesn’t matter how old you are ’cause true movie buffs will not judge you for seeing this flick. The Minions movie is one of the cutest animation works I have seen to date. The cute yellow minions are just too hard not fall in love with and it makes you wish they were real (Seriously, I want one, or two. )
The movie begins with the history of the Minions and how they came to be. Aussie actor Geoffrey Rush is a the narrator because let’s face it we’re not minion enough to understand the minions without voiceover commentary. In a nutshell, the premise of the movie revolves around the minions finding an evil master they can serve. Years and years go by, they find several masters but due to unfortunate circumstances, they are killed.
The minions end up finding a place where they can live and be safe at the same time, but this isn’t enough for the minions as they need to find someone evil to serve! Minion Kevin decides to promise his fellow minions to find them the best and most evil villain to serve. Joining him on this journey would be the forever hungry Stuart, and the adorable squishy Bob.
Their journey begins in America and from there they discover Villain Con and serve Scarlet Overkill (voiced by Sandra Bullock). They are given the opportunity to serve her in London, however things don’t go according to plan. Spoiler alert: After much disappointment minions have a happy ending as they finally find their evil mastermind, Gru, (unless you’re under five – you probably worked this ending out after seeing Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2).
The movie is worth your money or bananas, as the minions cuteness just oozes off the screen – a must see for all ages (I minion-it). Seriously, cute.
Rating – 4 out of 5.
