Police called to quell bloody brawls in CBD and Surry Hills

TWO men were arrested after a violent brawl involving up to ten people caused chaos in a fast food restaurant in the CBD early this morning.

Police were called to the McDonald’s restaurant on George Street after reports of men fighting and arrived to find a number of people involved in a scuffle.

One man was detained inside the restaurant and another was arrested on the street for failing to follow a move along order but he was later released.

Several other men were spoken to by officers before the group was dispersed.

Inquiries are continuing.

Meanwhile a man suffered suspected facial fractures and several others were left bloodied and beaten after a brawl at a late-night venue in inner Sydney this morning.

Up to six men were involved in a fight that started at the Strawberry Hills Hotel in Surry Hills about 12.45am.

 Police and paramedics, including officers from the Public Order and Riot Squad, were called to the venue on Devonshire Street and found the men suffering multiple facial injuries.

Two men were treated at the scene, one for a suspected broken nose, while several others gave statements to police.

Investigations are continuing.
